Jennifer Pritzker, a billionaire real estate investor and cousin of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, has put a mansion in Winnetka's Indian Hill Club back on the market after a spring 2018 deal with a buyer evidently fell through.

The asking price is $3.85 million, as it was last spring. The home is one of five on the North Shore that Pritzker or her firm, Tawani Enterprises, have on the market. The firm's representatives have consistently declined to say why Pritzker appears to be pulling out of the North Shore.

Built-in 1920, the six-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot home near the sixth fairway of the Indian Hill Club has been "impeccably updated" since Pritzker bought it in 2015, said her listing agent Brandy Isaac of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff Realty Group. The rehab included an entirely new kitchen and, creating two separate master suites, updating six full bathrooms, and adding a conservatory room with windows on three sides, Isaac said.

Pritzker redid a "humongous" driveway and parking area with heated bluestone that melts snow and added walls and other landscaping to the 1.28-acre property, Isaac said. The house has an indoor pool that predates Pritzker's ownership.

Pritzker, who paid $2.8 million for the home in 2015, listed it for sale in April at $3.85 million. Her listing was marked "contingent" in late June. That means buyers had put down a contract that had strings attached, such as that the buyers had to get a house sold before closing on the purchase of this home.

The house came back on the market today. Isaac confirmed that a contract fell through, but declined to provide details.

Pritzker's representatives have never confirmed that she lived in the house, and Isaac today said she could not comment.

Two Evanston properties owned by entities that Pritzker controls are under contract to buyers. One, a Tudor mansion on Sheridan Road that a Tawani entity bought for $1.7 million in 2014, was priced at just under $1.6 million when it went under contract, with a contingency, on Feb. 13. On Judson Avenue, a house that a Tawani-related entity bought for $1.2 million in 2012, was priced at $1.29 million when it went under contract, also with a contingency, on January 11.

Isaac could not disclose the contracted sale prices on either property.

Tawani announced in May that it also planned to sell the two Evanston bed-and-breakfasts it owns. Neither appears to have sold yet and Theodora Gerber, a Tawani spokesperson, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In Chicago, Tawani has several apartment and inn properties on the Gold Coast and Rogers Park, and commercial property in the Loop.

Jennifer Pritzker is one of 11 billionaires in the Chicago-based Pritzker family, according to Forbes, and the world's only known transgender billionaire.
